He also was part of the rap group Public Enemy who sold millions of records worldwide and led a protest that eventually made Martin Luther King's Birthday recognized as a holiday in the state of Arizona. Nowadays, just like you said, he is a well payed pimp and I have no idea why women are fighting over him!
