Choose 7 and make them stay up all night watching them. Don't start playing them until the sun goes down and stop when the sun comes up. I did this when I was a teenager, it was a lot of fun.

Poltergeist!!! That'll scare them silly! Also, any of the disney Halloweentown movies were pretty good & the main character is a teen, so they should be able to relate. War of the Worlds wasn't bad & should scare them, too. the Little Vampire was "cute" so they might not admit they'd enjoy it, but it's a fun movie, too. Tim Burtons' a Nightmare Before Christmas is great. If you wanna get really scary, Sleepy Hollow will do the job!!!
the Corpse Bride was okay but my kids said too much singing.
See if Monster House will be out in time - it fits the whole Halloween theme. Also, Haunted Mansion!!

The Grudge - it's not gory, but it's extremely scary
Slither - (comes out on DVD on Oct. 24th ) - More of a Comedy with some scary aspects
Cry Wolf - A thriller, but not too scary

If you want to scare the pants off them - Dawn of the Dead

Saw, Saw II And soon, Saw III. AWESOME! Very scary, teenagers love these movies. Also, House of Wax (they all love Paris Hilton).

when all the kids get there, pile them into the car or van and haul them to the rental place. if you don't have enough room in the car, go alone after having everyone give suggestions and vote. that way, you won't fail by getting something they don't like.
