When I was 19 my mother told me my dad was "another guy" than I had been told.
Never did find ole' dad until I read his obit in the local paper. He had moved across the country, changed his name and started a 3rd family. If he isn't interested in finding you don't cast your pearls before the swine. Forget about the bum.

I think it's a bit late for that. If he hasn't been around for more than 10 years, you have no idea who or what he is. Why risk bringing a strange man (a stranger!) into the children's lives? He's basically just been a sperm donor at this point.

Absolutely not! If he has been gone that long with no contact, he is just a loser anyway. If the kids want to find him when they are old enough to care, let them find him then.
