IT'S HARD TO BE A TEENAGER.....BUT I WOULD FIND SOMEONE TO TALK TOO...THESE DAYS IT HARD TO COMFIND IN ANYONE WHEN UR AFRAID THEY MIGHT USE THAT TO HURT U LATER ON AND DRIVE U TO SOMETHING MORE. i HATE TO C THAT HAPPEN. i WOULD LIKE THAT U CAN EITHER FIND A HOTLINE TO TALK TO SOMEONE IN DISCREET OR SOME OTHER HELP THAT IS ONLY BETWEEN U AND THE CLINIC. tHERE ARE PLACE U CAN FIND IN UR AREA. DO GET HELP BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE.

I HAD A SISTER WHO IS BI-POLAR...I DIDN'T KNOW SHE HAD IT UNTIL SHE ATTEMPTED SUCIDE. I ONLY WISH SHE WOULD OF CAME TO ME AND I WOULD OF HELP HER. SHE FOUND HELP THRU A CHURCH AND HER SCHOOL.. SHE WAS ONLY 12 WHEN SHE HAD ATTEMPTED. SHE IS NOW 22 AND DEALING WITH IT DAY BY DAY.

Try talking to someone - as hard as that may be. A clinical social worker has lower rates and can help. You can also go to your primary care physician (PCP).

Try exercise and also eating healthy.

Sometimes depression can be caused just simply by chemical inbalance. A PCP can help you by prescribing a low dose anti-depressant that will help to restore balance. They won't make you happy, but they will make it harder for your body to become depressed.

Good luck! (If you are a teenager, try talking to the school counselor or nurse. If you tell them you want them to keep it confidential, they have to keep it confidential unless you are in danger of hurting yourself)

If your school has a separate counseling office, go there and ask to speak to the school social worker or psychologist, or your counselor. If there isn't a separate counseling office, go to the regular office and ask one of the office ladies the same question.

If that doesn't help, talk to a teacher you trust, or another adult.

Don't let anything discourage you from getting help! You will get through this.

You poor dear. I have suffered w/rapid cycling bi-polar for years. there is no need to be afraid to talk to your doctor about your depression. It may be physically induced. Just not getting sleep for any reason will cause all kinds of mental & physical problems. (do you, your partner or pets snore, do you have pain,is there repeated traffic, train, plane or other noises waking you?) Your doc can run tests to check out physical causes and refer you for counsiling & meds (be careful here, many side effects) . Get exercise & eat right --watch the high sugar foods.
