Pop just means popular music, so all pop doesn't have to sound alike. For that reason, they're pop. Pop-rock, but pop nonetheless. They TRY to classify themselves as punk or alternative, but both punk and alternative are, by definition, agaisnt the mainstream. The bands you listed are PART of the mainstream. So pop-rock.

They are rock bands. Some of their songs may fall into the punk/ emo caterogary but rarely any. Punk/ emo is really dark music somethin like maybe Three days grace (not exactly but something like it). Fallout boy and Panic at the disco is really just loud and crazy so it is rock/ maybe a lilttle bit punk.
Atleast thats what i think

I am so happy, it was only a 35 minute drive ( 70 minutes total) but absolutely no sign of anxiety or panic i shopped till I dropped - brilliant! I will now go for the next stage DUAL CARRIAGE way, probably at the weekend, with my husband accompanying me first then the solo drive, if successful the final stage of driving on motorway

To me they're "pop-emo". The most popular form of emo out there.
It's just like pop-rock (such as All American Rejects) or pop-punk such as Green Day.
FOB, P!ATD and Hawthorne Heights don't exactly dress in all black and constantly sing about death/self-inflicted pain, but they're pretty close to it and their music is popular with the mainstream today so it's only fitting to call them "pop-emo" because they're the most popular form of emo. Plus any music category with the prefix of "pop-" seems to be a bit watered down these days.

rock is dead. the bands you listed are anything but punk or emo. why label the bands when you can just listen to them and like them? you know a band is good when you can't put them into one genre, so why try to if you can't figure it out?
