I asked my best friend of eleven years to be the maid of honor in my wedding. I was just her MOH in her wedding last year. Her husband and her were trying to have a baby but after a misscarriage took a break. During that break I asked her to be my MOH and her husband to be a groomsmen. I told her the wedding date and everything.......and two and a half months later she tells me via email that she is six weeks pregnant and her due date is two days after my wedding!! I was speechless, and she emailed me and asked me if i was mad. I told her i wasn't mad but hurt because i thought they would have waited a while until they started trying again, to avoid a due date that close to the wedding. She responded that she should not beput in a posiition to defend herself, her pregnancy, or her husband to anyone and told me that if I felt the need to discuss it further that she and her husband want to sit down with me. I told her off and removed them from the wedding. How would you respond?

I told her I was very very very happy for her when she told me, and even sent her a card and present. The part that upset me was she never mentioned my wedding at all for two weeks after telling me....it was all about baby. I can understand that to a point, but after putting as much into her wedding, I was disappointed she didn't find my wedding as important. They were only trying for three months when she had the misscarriage, and I would not have cared if she was pregnant at my wedding, but a due date that close means there is a good chance my best friend of eleven years would not even be able to attend, even after agreeing to be my MOH.

It would have been hard on her losing a baby and all. If she did agree to be in your wedding, thats her responsibilty now.. She has promised you something, something that is supposed to be on the best day of your life and she is also merly returning the favor. I would have been let down as well. She leaves you in a horrible position. You have a right to be disappointed... Although take it easy on her,.. She is trying to start a family of her own (if this is her first child) ... And she also should have told you about her position sooner! It doesn't leave you much time to plan the details over...But you have to see the brighter side of the situation

What ever you decide to do,... Good Luck...

They didn't do it to spite you, it's just bad timing is all. Invite them to the wedding, but not to be in the procession. (Unless she can find a formal for pregnancy.)

Please don't turn into a BRIDEZILLA!! It may be a small inconvenience, but she didn't purposely get pregnant to ruin your wedding. Be happy for her and move on.
