Any BJ's Wholesale Club or Sam's Club will carry the cases of Pampers (@160 per box) for a pretty good price. See the links below to see where the stores are in your area.
As for needing newborn diapers... our daughter was 8 lbs 6 oz. and only used the newborn diapers that the hospital sent us home with. I wouldn't recommend getting a case of newbordn diapers. I would buy maybe one or two regular sized bags of newborns sized and then get a case of size 1.
We belong to a BJ's nearby us. We save what seems like tons of money and go there about once a week or so. You will have to buy a membership, but that pays for itself in no time at all!
Good luck and congratulations!

You might want to be careful buying newborn diapers in bulk as I learned the hard way that not all babies will fit in a 'newborn' diaper. I am a slender person and assumed this meant I would have an average size baby. I ended up with a 10 pound 22 inch baby girl (I gained 30 pounds in the pregnancy) who started out in Size 2 diapers. I had already opened all of the diapers and had them neatly placed in my nursery so I couldn't return them. Luckily I had a friend who was expecting and was able to put them to use. Hope this helps.

Don't stuck up on the newborn diapers. You really don't have to get Pampers if you don't have the money. I don't know if they have one in New York, but Target has a good store brand diaper, I think. Target usually has good deals on there diapers. Different diapers fit baby's differently, so if you can buy all different kinds of brands and see which ones work best for you.

I got mine from Costco. Also, I received 6 packs of Pampers during my baby shower. (Newborns and Size Ones) I'm saving my Babies R Us gift card for diapers (!!) for when these run out.

The newborn Pampers are called "Swaddlers", and I loved them for my newborn because they fit so good around her little belly! You can find them in bulk at Sam's Club or Babies R' Us. Once she got to crawling we switched to Huggies Cruisers because they aren't as wide between the legs which is helpful when crawling. Good luck with your new one! They grow so fast so enjoy it while they are small!

I liked the huggies supreme for newborns. Dont use generic diapers on newborns because their skin is so sensitive. You can get a good deal on diapers at costco or sams club. Good luck.

they are designed a little bit differently than the regular ones but no its not an absolute must that you have to get those kind. usually can can find these in wholesale stores like Sams club, BJ's or Costcos, i dont know what if any would be in your area though. you can find them in smaller packages anywhere that sells diapers. I always found the best diapers to be the parent's choice diapers sold at walmart!
