Is it true that at the height of the British Empire we had a claim on one fifth of the earths land? Take a look at an old world map. Land under British rule was coloured red.
Also how many countries did we rule at the height?.

northern america= canada,bermuda,bahamas,and 13 american colonies
europe= ireland,gibralter,heligoland,cyprus,malta,ionian islands,minorca
caribbean=16 countries
south america= 6 countries
middle east =12 countries
south east asia=10 countries
asia= 4 countries
pacific =14 countries

some of the above dont exist today

The present British have enjoyed enough through the socalled Red Coloured Area in the old maps. Now they are vomiting as they had overenjoyed their rule over a vast area of the world. What they begot after such a rule in the form of immigrants is creating stomach ache now

Best to look up membership of the British Commonwealth for the exact number. The only criteria to join was to be ruled by Britain (although bear in mind that now Zimbabwe is not currently a member)

We ? Strikes me the ordinary man or woman in the street or in the factory or coal mine or shipyard didn't lay much claim to much except an outside shared lavatory , poor health and a short life . Thank God the sun finally set on it for all our sakes .
