Honestly, most of the people who answer give crap answers like "just do it" or "cool". So why turn to this for an answer? Arn't live people more interesting?

Sometimes I already know my decision when I ask a question, but I want to see other people's opinions. I've gotten some very heart felt answers from meaningful people. Other times it's quicker to ask a question here rather than doing a search on the internet. I don't have many people in my life sitting around doing nothing to ask. I get responses here in less than a minute. And it's fun!!!

This is something I do in my rare spare time and I actually learn things from some of the answers. Additionally, I get a chance to float some questions here before I present them to my students. Hey, I could be wasting time watching TV. But this is more fun.

A moment ago, I just asked a question and said "no 1-liners, please" and apparently offended some people. I don't get it, though. You would think people would understand the usefulness of a service such as this and, therefore, not abuse it..
Obviously, live people are more interesting, but I do like Yahoo Answers, because users reach a much larger segment of the population than they could ever hope to in many other circumstances.. you never know if there's an expert who happens upon your question.. I guess that's the chance we take.. we get answers from 10 drips and maybe one expert, if we're lucky..

Well I'm at work, I'm bored and I think it's fun to try and help people find answers. I only answer things I know the answer to, know where to find an answer, or the question is so dumb in the first place I thought I'd try and give a "witty" answer.

If you believe this so strongly then why are you asking a question?
Yes, talking to a person, face to face is better but sometime it is NOT possible so, you go online and ask! Maybe some of the people on this site can't voice their questions out loud so they go online where no one knows them!

There are many people think like you, and there are many people think like me, I like this site, I can see the useful of it, and I get the benefit of it...question to you....if all people answer with serious, sincere, strong advice, etc....I am sure you will think of the short answer, like just do it, cool.....or even something that worse than those....*It's like the drama, movie, politic...if you have just good people, nice people and there are no bad or negative people at all....I don't think life would be so 'colorful' like this. :-)....same as if we have only people who make us laugh, and happy...then we would never know what is laugh and happiness like ,wouldn't we?....if we have only rich and wealthy people on earth...then we wouldn't know what is rich and wealthy like ,would we?

there are those but then we also have a few who actually give an intelligent answer or two and despite what some may think i am actually a real live person, go figure

actually, I'm not here asking questions, i like answering them. i like to feel i can help someone i don't even know or will ever meet. people come here sometimes and feel lonely or may have a genuine problem they don't trust to talk to with people in their lives. I'm willing to help. i also like to give my opinion about different issues and try to have people see things from a different perspective...as well as goof off, you have to have fun right??
