a creditor has a lean on my account what can i do about it?

the company that the creditor is working for says i owe them money , but the account that they claim i owe them for i closed.

Maybe you closed it without paying it off completely. Check the balance and request a statement and go from there. If its not payed off, you have to make arrangements to close out your account. If it is, then at least you can clear it up.

The lien will not be lifted until any unpaid balance is resolved.

If you have proof that you closed the account, ask them if they want a copy of the docuement showing that it's closed.
