Ignorance is to blame. History shows us that a "person" is normally level headed and somewhat sensible, however "people" are dangerous. Get them together and the amount of irationability goes through the roof. Panic steps in, and next thing you know fear starts to consume them.
Ignorance is to blame. And many years from now, someone will look back at some of what we do here and now, and say we were ignorant. We owe it to ourselves and our future to do what is right, and not base our lifes out of fear of the unknown. I am not advocating witchcraft, but a lot of what was done back then was not witchcraft - it was simply revolutionary in thinking.

actually it was not a 'story' it really happened. The reason it happened was that there were a group of people who wanted to impose their way of thinking onto others and when they didn't conform they contrived a way to dispose of them, ergo 'burn the witches, they are in league with the devil!'. This was started by church going people who listened to one individual thinking that he had 'all the answers to life's problems'. when in actuality no 'one person has the answers' we all live our lives according to our own rules and regulations (or that of our parents - because they are God), we have to live with the choices we make in life why put your fate or life into the hands of someone else.
