The term race should no longer be used. It is outmoded. The better term to use is ethnicity, which refers to the nationality or ethnic group from which a person is derived. The term "race" is based on the idea that there are genetically defined groups among humans such as Caucasian, Asian, black, etc. But the more we know about genetics, the more we know that there are no significant genetic differences between such groups of humans, only superficial differences such as skin color and hair color. You can take samples of DNA from the most remote tribe anywhere in the world, and find 99% of the genetic variation occurring among all humans in the world. Therefore we must all be from the same race, i.e., the human race.
