Yes you can. Check the label on the formula to see how long it is good for once mixed. We have Nestle Good Start powder and Nestle Alsoy powder, once mixed it is good for 48hrs refrigerated.

Make sure you put caps on the nipples to ensure no bacteria gets onto the nipple or into the bottle ;)

According to the formula i buy i can sterilize and then put the bottles in the fridge with formula for 24 hours. IT is not a no-no. Even sterilized water holds in the fridge when covered for 24 hours. Please talk to a public health nurse or your doctor about the proper use of storing formula. Even the packages the formula come in says its perfectly safe (some formulas are even ok for 48 hours. So dont listen to people that say you can because you can.

Also the problem with preparing the formula ---- when putting the boiled water into the bottle it is best to wait for the water to cool, because according to health canada if you put the formula (powdered stuff) into the bottle while its boiling hot it can kill some of the nutrients in the formula. So i wait until my water has cooled before i add the formula to the bottles.

It tells you on the back of your can of formula how long it can remain in the refrigerator after being mixed. I believe it to be 24 hours, but if you take it out and the child drinks any of it, do not put it back in there. Too much bacteria gets on the nipple and inside the bottle that way. Discard whatever is left after the baby drinks what they wanted. This is why its good not to make too many ounces at once.

I wouldnt listen to the first answer as far as putting in the formula first. If you put the formula in first, then the amount of water that you put in there won't be the exact amount of the ounces you need. And having too much formula is worse for the baby than having too much water.

My dad made this mistake with my child when he was babysitting. when i pointed it out to him, he realized that I was right. Then he went out and bought a bottle that keeps the formula and the water seperated until you flip something on it and it goes into the water and you shake it...if that made any sense, lol.

You can but because it became a hastle to warm up the bottles with a hungry baby, this is what I did. It was so much easier. I used the powder formula. After I sterilized the bottles, I would add the amount of water needed for the bottles. So, when I needed them all I had to do was add the powder and the shake. Done!! I used to do that especially when she was really tiny and I had to get up several times a night.

That is perfectly fine. If I remember correctly you can store bottles that haven't touched the baby's mouth or been warmed in the fridge for up to 24 hours. I know a lot of people use microwaves to warm up the bottles, but be careful if you do this as it can cause hot spots. I always warmed the bottles up in a cup with hot water, but that was breastmilk. I would think the same would hold true for formula.

The longest you will want to have a bottle in the fridge is 48-72 hours (2-3 days). After that, the milk will start to spoil. you can freeze breast milk for up to a year in the freezer, then put it in a pot of almost boiling water to unfreeze it. That will last the longest. I used to just have the bottles prepared with the formula and cereal, then pull it out of the cabinet, and add warm water. It was just as easy. Plus, I didn't have to heat the bottle!

Definitely:)

I found it convenient to make my baby's bottles up every morning & store them in the refrigerator.

The back of the Similac can reads not to refrigerate for more than 24 hours. You have the check the back of your formula can.

No that is okay to do as long as u are not leaving them in the refridge. more than 24 hours. After u warm the bottle u can leave the bottle at room temp for 2 hours, or one hour after the baby has eaten some.

You can but the fridge time is very limited. Probably best to make them fresh. Read the can it tells you the okay amount of time to refrigerate pre-made formula.

yes you can do thta. I did it with both of my girls after talking to their pedi & she said it was ok. They are only good for 2 days though & only if you haven't fed them from them. I used to make up 2 days worth of bottles at a time, saved alot of tiem that way & was nice. When I got down to 1 or 2 left I would make up more & put those left int he front too be used up first.
