It depends. If you're talking about 4 distinct people leaving, then there are 6 left.

If each of the fathers and sons was a separate person and they lived in the village and did not return then 10 - 4 = 6.
If none of the fathers or sons lived in the village, or did live there and return to the village after they left the 10 - 0 = 10. This would also be true if the "fathers and sons" were not humans, but say, goats, for example.
