At my school, there's this thing called "Circle the State." I am auditioning for it, and the music teacher said to try to not sing a song you hear on the radio. So, any suggestions? Also, where can I find the lyrics to it?

I think a good song for an audition would be "What's Up" by 4 Non Blondes, but that might be a little too popular for what your teacer recommended. Another good song might be "The Kill" because it really pushes your voice to the limits, but make sure it's not to hard for you to sing.

Some suggestions --

"Someone To Watch Over Me"
"Over The Rainbow"
"Stormy Weather"

Anything from any of the great musicals will work. Decide what you want and check the web for lyrics, or go to your local music store and purchase the sheet music.

Good Luck!

Sing: East of the Sun and West of the Moon. Listen to the song and write the lyrics down. http://www.spiritofsinatra.com/pages/Lyrics/e/East_of_the_Sun.htm

You can find lyrics at www.LeosLyrics.com
You didn't state whether they are looking for you to preform Broadway type voice, or pop voice, (or opera)
Listen to some of your favorite Cd's from five years ago and choose a song that best showcases your vocal talents.

It has to be a song that you like singing!

Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman, by Britney Spears. A good one if you are a high school junior or senior. http://carla752.homestead.com/ImNotAGirlNotYetAWoman.html

It depends on your singing style. If it can't be from the radio think about something from a musical, like Evita.
