My friend's worried that if she has sex with her boyfriend then something will happen to her baby...just wanted to clear this up for her so that she knows whether to stay away from sex or not during her pregnancy....any answers will be great....thanks!!

Sex is completely fine while you're pregnant. As a matter of fact, some women love it even more while they're pregnant! Many men say that pregnant sex is much better than normal sex, and you don't EVER have to worry about wearing condoms- it's marvelous! Also, when you get to the third trimester and the baby is about to drop, do not think the penis will poke the baby's head, IT WON'T! Sex can also make labor easier during the 9th month. Good luck, and congrats to your friend! P.S. If spotting occurs, make sure she calls her doctor ASAP because sometimes women should not have sex if they spot, it could cause a miscarriage.

Sex can not affect you or your baby while pregnant. The baby is not getting bumped in the head which people often think.The baby is shut into the uterus by your cervix which doesn't open until you give birth. I had 6 children and maintained a normal sex life with my husband.They may want to find whatever position works best for her,but she is completely safe.

With most pregnancies it's perfectly safe! She should enjoy it now, some say it's the best sex they ever have when they are prego! A lot of women also have a much higher libido when prego!

Assuming her membranes haven't ruptured (her water hasn't broken), sex is fine. If she's nearing the end of her pregnancy, the sperm may actually work to bring on labor.
The only reason they suggest to avoid sex after your water has broken is because of the risk of infection. You're also told to avoid baths after your water has broken for the same reason.

Unless your doctor says you cant then go right ahead. Have fun...it doesnt hurt the baby. In fact sex in the end will speed up the labor process.

Have her ask the doctor. I was at my sexual peak when I was pregnant. Hormones? I don't know, but I had sex all the time when I was pregnant & my kids are just fine. Sorry to get blunt there

As long as the doctor says she is doing find then go for it. Had sex with my wife until she got so big I couldn't get it in anymore

it is safe! and some times more enjoyable.... there are certain times when if she is cramping, just to be on the safe side I have read to hold off a day or so... But other than that it is perfectly fine!!

Yes have sex, unless the doctor says not too. She may not want to, she may be uncomfortable.

yes it is absolutely safe. as long as her ob says its fine and no problems arise after (bleeding or cramping), then go for it! She'll be too tired and busy after the baby is born! ;)
