NO I DON'T THINK THEY ARE THE SAME...ONE CAN BE RESTLESS WHILE ENGAGED IN SOME WORK OR OTHER WHICH IS NOT BORING, BUT STILL HAVE A FEELING OF RESTLESSNESS. BEING BORED IS USUALLY EXPERIENCED BY THOSE WITH FEW INNER RESOURCES...IF ONE HAS SUCH RESOURCES, BOREDOM (SYN. WITH VACUOUSNESS, I THINK) CANNOT SET IN BECAUSE ONE'S MIND AND/OR IMAGINATION CAN ALWAYS BE AT WORK..

They're not exactly the same. Restlessness implies a general inability to remain stationary. Boredom relates more to a specific task or situation. You can have a restless personality, but you are bored only sometimes.

I don't think of them in the same way. You can be bored without being restless. When you are restless you want to move, it is almost impossible to sit still.
