See if you can open ...Yahoo.com ...from your My Yahoo page. Click on the large red 'Y' yahoo up in the right hand corner of the page. Hopefully that may work.. Dont worry about viruses if you are using a good Virus protection. Now cleaning your computer couldnt hurt tho with Disk Cleanup and Defragging.

IE is a very insecure and vulnerable browser to use. I used to get so many viruses with IE that would mess up my browser (and my PC) like you're experiencing. I'd recommend the Mozilla Firefox browser, way better, safer and faster.
If I had to guess what the problem is though I'd say a virus-like thing edited your HOSTS file so maybe when you would try to go to yahoo, it'd take you to a different site.

Most possibly your computer has been attacked by a trojan horse or adware which has made the change of yahoo.com home page to myyahoo.com. Scan the computer with an updated antivirus and spyware remover like spybot or adware remover adware se personal. It may solve the problem.

Try clearing the history, cache and cookies (Open IE, click on Toold, select Internet Options, and click the buttons to delete/clear files, cookies and history).
If that does not work, run a spy-ware scan on the PC.

You probably have malware/spayware. Try to restore your computer to a preivous date (I assume you have windows xp).

install it and run it.
