OK, Michelle. No political sniping here, I promise. My wife and I have two kids and without giving too much information, the answer to your question is no. You only need to remember that spontaneity may suffer a bit (you have to make sure the kids are asleep), but if you can get over that, you'll notice no difference.

I hope that helps.

Not necessarily ruin, but it does affect it, especially when the kids are young.

What ruins the sex life are couples not researching and understanding how pregnancy, breastfeeding, and the whole lifestyle of having children affects the physical, emotional, financial and mental well-being of a couple.

Couples need to make sure they communicate effectively, and realize that adjustments will have to be made.

Also, womens bodies, hormones and general psyches are constantly changing during these stages, so patience, understanding and help from significant others will make these adjustments easier

It can put a lot of stress on that aspect of your life, but it’s only temporary.

Don’t worry too much about it, things will fall back into place and you’ll adjust to the new one(s) in the house. If you are still really concerned about it, talk to your spouse. Communication is always the best route to take, that way you can get feed back about how they feel about the situation and you both can come to a solution together.

But I wouldn’t worry too much about it. Good luck and I hope things work out for you. *smiles

Hmmmmm, it is definetly much less established. We have been a three or 4 situations each and every week couple now we are all the way down to as quickly as maybe two times if we are fortunate. however the intercourse we do have IS of the earth shattering sort. i think of i could extremely have high quality vs. volume any day! The nights that our son is going to grandma's are reserved for the wild and loopy!

I do believe the woman is too stressed out, too tired and too overworked (with the kids) that sex leaves the center stage, but men still think it is their right - hence kids do ruin a couple's sex life

Not if you don't let it. If anything, it puts it on hold for a good while, but the couple are the ones that ultimately decide if the sex life is over or not.

If you want sex, the two of you will find time somehow.

Not completely, but it does put a damper on things. The harsh reality is that by the time the kids have gone to bed and you have the opportunity you are both too tired to do much about it.

OTOH, it does make the times you do get together a bit more special.

i am 36 with 4 kids and 3 step kids and still manage to have sex 2 or 3 times a day, so I don't think so.

No, not for us. We were tired a lot when the babies were infants because if they were awake, then we were awake as well. But, fatigue aside, the only limitations for sex that I've noticed is that we can't screw in every room of the house anymore, we have to lock the bedroom door, and, oh yes...no more loud moaning and screaming. other than that...sex is just fine.

Not really, we have three kids, and our sex life is still great. You learn when is a good time, and you take little romantic trips to be alone, it actually has gotten better, since we are not always just doing it at home or at night, you take the oppurtunities as they come, and it makes it very exciting!
