I always hear people saying the only way to download messages from Yahoo! Mail is to upgrade to Yahoo! Mail Plus, which costs $19.99 USD/ year. Unfortunately, that is absolutely NOT true. There are a number of ways to download messages from Yahoo! Mail to Outlook Express. And, best of all, it is totally free. Please read the following article for step-by-step instructions:

"Download Messages From Yahoo! Mail For Free " -- written by Winston's Attic (http://winston-blog.blogspot.com/2006/10/download-messages-from-yahoo-mail-for.html)

"As many of you know, the free version of Yahoo! Mail does not provide POP3 access. In layman's terms, you can't download messages from Yahoo! Mail to your desktop e-mail client. In order to receive POP3 access you need to upgrade to Yahoo! Mail Plus, which will cost you $19.99/ year. However, there is a poor man's alternative to gain POP3 access to Yahoo! Mail and it won't cost you a dime." -- excerpt from article.

You need to sign up for Yahoo Mail Plus ($20/year). Check the Yahoo! help for POP access and follow the instructions for Outlook Express.
