It simply means that the two of you are very good friends but not close enough to date. Don't read anything into it but if you have questions just ask him I mean after all you are his girl right? Just like saying that's my partner or my homie.

Sounds like you mean a lot to this guy, you must make him feel good and he appreciates you in his life...like an angel sent from heaven, you have a positive effect on him.

for me it would mean they are my like boyfriend but i have had people call me angel because we are just good friends so it can mean different things really

If your really close friends, don't you think you should be asking him that questions instead of a bunch of strangers. Only he can truly give you that answer.

indirectly i think he is trying to show the girl that he is interested in her not as just a friend but want something more, like a relationship (of boyfriend, girlfriend). he's sending a message....
