Source: truthdig.com The aircraft carrier Eisenhower, accompanied by the guided-missile cruiser USS Anzio, guided-missile destroyer USS Ramage, guided-missile destroyer USS Mason and the fast-attack submarine USS Newport News, are making their way to the Straits of Hormuz off Iran. The ships will be in place to strike Iran by the end of the month. It may be a bluff. It may be a feint. It may be a simple show of American power.

No the threat of an attack is a bigger deterrent than the attack itself, if they just keep threatening Iran would still be in line but if they attack then Iran will hit back , knowing now that they are a nuclear power I don't think US can take a chance
But it's a very dangerous situation the countdown to WW3 has begun, Iran is a very irresponsible nation and it seems only a matter time before the Nukes fall into the hands of terrorists, God save us from that day

If anyone strikes Iran it will be Israel. No threats will be made beforehand and it will probably be done by unmarked planes coming in from the North. It will be a surgical strike only, designed to take out the nuclear complex. Israel will deny any involvement but everyone will have strong suspicions. Israel cannot, to ensure its own survival, allow the Iranians to complete their work.
A major problem might be if they chose to do it while the American fleet lay off the coast of Iran.

I hope they won't think that this is necessary. Afghanistan is tough going and Iraq is not going well. Another disasterous campaign is the last thing the world needs.

North Korea is probably taking all their attention now but surprise surprise they'll do nothing because they've already got the bomb. US and British governments really take the biscuit with their total hypocrisy!

I don't think so. there's american forces in iraq and afghanistan and iran have a defensive agreement with syria. so if the USA attacked from aghanistan talban and osama will retake the control all over aghanistan. and if the USA attacked from iraq the militias or the syrians will take the control of iraq ,so the USA won't attack iran.

Thanks for the fleet update. No, I don't think we, I'm an American, will attack Iran. I don't think we want to attack anyone or thing, except maybe our dinner plates. Americans hate war. All war. Only when we are defending ourselves or those we promised to defend will we go to war. Iraq???? Gee, maybe we believed they were a threat to all free country's when they refused to cooperate with UN's 14 resolutions, aided and paid terrorists and were more than willing to make and distribute WMDs' Gee, maybe we "talked" to them one on one and were given to believe they would never agree to end these behaviors.

Hmmm
Why everyone takes everything by force ?

Is it easy just to say lets hit or lets make war , not all countries are small and have no long range missles !!

THINK !!!!
War is not easy anymore !

Iranian ppl may be used on death, they believe in it, but believe me americans can stand one missle hitting any state, it will cuz a roit in usa if it happens ! they will have a multipe war inside and outside .

Not forgetting what they r stuck in, iraq, afghan, and other problems !

Absolutely, they have to. If they invade Iran and set up a puppet regime they will control the majority of the worlds oil resources.

No not unless Iran attacks the USA and then they would retaliate but i think its a stupid idea we are going to be in a world war if we are not careful then everybody loses.
