To be accurate: Schindler was born in Zwittau/Sudetenland that at that time (1908) belonged to Austria-Hungary. He also belonged to the sudetendeutsche minority and was a member of the Sudetendeutsche Partei, a forerunner of the NSDAP that was forbidden in Czecheslovakia, since 1935 and of the NSDAP since 1939. In 1958 he 'returned' to Germany, so obviously he 'felt' he was German. He wasn't the nice and unselfish character as which the film describes him. But in comparison to most Germans of those days he looked like an idol.
+ Most Hollywood films that feature German characters are set in WWII - it's probably hard to find too many nice Germans representing this period. But still there usually is one good German guy. I think that's more than fair. + Franka Potente in the Bourne Identity/Bourne Supremacy is a good girl, etc., etc.

I have yet to see Germans portrayed as good guys in any movie. I figure (in sticking with the reveal the plot in the title gimmick employed by Snakes on a Plane) that Hollywood should come out with a movie titled "Germans, Perfectly Nice People" and cast Canadians as the bad guys. (And as I am Canadian I can say that)

Run Lola Run, Sophie's Choice (I haven't seen it, but I'm pretty sure that the main character is Sophie Scholl, a German heroine), the Black Rider

Not a made in U.S. movie. Probably some movie made in Germany would have German good guys. Likewise, have you seen any movie made in U.S. where an Arab was a good guy? I think not.

i would be unable to declare that i've got ever seen somebody who appears like a sketch character, yet one time while i replace into on jury accountability considered one of the different adult men who replace into on jury accountability with me had a snigger that replace into precisely like that of Barney Rubble from the Flintstones. as quickly as I first heard him pop out with it my jaw dropped open in ask your self. i assumed there replace right into a television playing the Flintstones interior of reach till i found out it had come from this guy! BQ: I observed somebody with a spectacular Cat tattoo as quickly as. i assumed that replace into notably cool.
