You take a series of courses through the provincial regulating agency ie (OREA) Ontario Real Estate Board. Once you complete these you write for your license. Then you find an agency that will hire you, complete the compulsory requirements on upgrades and either move onto commercial or get your brokers license.
This information can be found at www.orea.com where you will find the specific requirements.

Each province has it's own licensing procedure. The easiest way to find accurate information would be to call your local real estate board and ask them what they require, or simply call a local realtor and they would be happy to explain the procedure to you which would be relevant to the area that you are looking to be an agent.
