Have you ever had to deal with a situation where your husband has had to assume the role of househusband/SAHD?

If so, how did it work out? Was it great or terrible? How did he deal with it?

My husband got hurt at work and have to have a couple of surgeries on his hand so i had to start working and he stayed home and took care of the kids and the house. Please don't tell him i said this but he did ALOT better job at doing it than i ever did. I will deny i said this if you tell him!!! lol

I have a friend who does this. He stays at home with their 2 boys, and works as a consultant from the home office. He makes great money, so does his wife, and he is with the kids during the day. I'm sure that if she had the opportunity to work from home, she would have, but that just didn't come along. I think it works though. He really enjoys it. I don't know anyone who is a SAHD and that's all he does... I would think the general concern would be that he's not the breadwinner... that's a major hit to a guy's ego.

I am a sahd for two years now it took some getting used to but it is working well now it just takes some getting used to.

We had four kids. One of my girls 13, years old, got Leukemia. She was sent to Mt. Zion Hospital in San Francisco! She lasted for one year and a half. My wife, stayed with her the whole time.
I was working, asked for a temporary time off. Sometime, my mother in law she help. My wife never left her bedside for an hour.
Somehow we managed. God Bless! he help us a lot!! We are going on 40 years of marriage. In 1990, Our 21 year old son committed suicide!! His wife left him!!

within a week my husband was beggingto go back to work so i dont think it worked so great
