Because they think the person in the store will go telling everybody they know that he is buying condoms, and his parents may find out. I solved that problem for my son by buying them for him. Unfortunately, he passed them out in school to all his friends, and I got called in to talk to the principal, who I then reamed out fortrying to force his beliefs onto the students. He was one of thosefundamentalist "no sex for unmarried people" jerks.

Yeah, it's just a "guy thing."
I always thought it was weird that I would go to the store with my guy back in college to buy condoms but he would NOT stand in line with me if I had to buy pads or tampons. Wimp! Needless to say, that's NOT the man I ended up marrying!
