I have nothing against American music, I like it however it seems like only MTV music seems to dominate our music charts. I want to hear songs from say Kenya to Slovakia, each country has a thriving music scene. Why aren't these songs more available?

Some countries do have their own MTV, with the local homegrown talents. But I think these should extend to different countries, rather than just stay within their country.

Ever heard of "Supply and Demand"? It's the first rule of economics.

Teenage girls are MTV's main market. So whatever teenage girls want, MTV will give them.

For example: Back in the 80's teenage girls wanted Bruce Springsteen, Madonna, ZZ Top and Bon Jovi. All MTV played was music videos because that's what teenage girls wanted.

Now, all most teenage girls want is pop rock, pop, rap, and Laguna Beach. So MTV is filled with nothing but 18 hours of reality shows and 6 hours of music videos (somewhat TRL and off-air video time).

So, if teenage girls don't want music from Slovakia and Kenya MTV won't play it. But if somehow that music does make it through to get the attention of them then MTV will play it.

because american bands used to be good but they sucked MTV's dick signed a deal with the devil and their music got industrialized...and tennyboppers love that ****. tennyboppers ruined it....dont let the teenyboppers ruin your kenya and slovakia music. They ruined MOST of ours....not all of it but most of it...even though the poseurs ruined the bands...its still hard to not love them. MTV sees what the kids like and they put it on their network...then they make LOTS of $.....must be nice huh.

because anyone who likes tmtv's music has no taste and is being brainwashed by the money hungry music industry. any music now is what I call novelty music. it's just filling no substance.

That would be nice wouldnt it. I dont know why it is, if you're famous in America you are famous worldwide and if you are famous anywhere else that may not be the case. Hmmmmm....
