The Government steps on its people so why not have people step on the flag when they enter my home.

It would be no surprise if you did use the American flag as a doormat. You're as Anti-American as they come, and you're no better then the fanatical crazies that burn our flag and think Osama Bin Laden is a hero!

The question and the rational are not related I am afraid, unless you feel that the flag represents the government and not the people. For most, the opposite is true. That flag is a symbol of the American people, not her elected government. The flag is yours...I spent 12 years in the Military to ensure that you could have the freedom to utilize it in whatever way you saw fit. You must decide what that use will be...it is your right.

The flag doesn't represent the government. It represents the people which includes you. If you want to step on yourself then go right ahead. I'm sure there are a lot of people on this board who are willing to help you.

We may not have the perfect system, but you are free--even to make remarks about the government you elected--without fear of death or imprisionment. If you are unhappy with things as they are, you can do one of two things 1) run for office and make changes or 2) move.

Oh my god I hope you are not an American Citizen! I know our country (thanks to Bush) is completely torn right now, and we are ruining ourselves (thanks to Bush) but how dare you. Supporting YOUR country and YOUR flag is not just show that you are an American. It shows that you appreciate everyone past and present that has made a difference in the country you live in today. Everybody that died for your rights, everyone that risked their life for your rights, everyone who lived and made some small effort so that you can talk about stepping on the American flag and not be hanged for it you ungrateful loser. I would only suggest it during winter months erudite... In the summer, alot of the times it's clean shoes that touch it. You want the mat to be Totally covered in **** so during winter months would be better? Plus, it will give the ******* mother something to do in between making more people for the freeways...
