What is the point of a "myspace" page?

Well, for starters, im not a ho, and i dont get guys sexed up for nothing. People that think like that should be shot. I use my myspace page to show off my individuality, and creativity, as well as accurately expressing my personality. And I also have used that page and site to find my old friends from grade school, and jr. high. Thats why the heading is "a place for friends".

Makes sense right?

Anyway, some people DO abuse it for uses like dating services, or porn sites. And I feel those people should be banned but myspace never does anything about it. So what can ya do? free world! lol Ive even recieved invites from women with webcams lmao. But i just flag it and delete it.

Also, originally, myspace was designed as a free site for underground and other lesser known bands to be discovered. But it turned into a huge thing for regular people (such as myself).

I think "My Space" is just a bigger type of profile page that's not connected to any site like yahoo or aol. It's just a direct shot right into the page. I'm not really sure but I think that's pretty close. What I do know is it gets a lot of young girls in all sorts of trouble because there's way too many perverts and pedophiles that stock the site. if you watch the news, you'll find some kids, mainly young girls on that news at least twice a week. it's not a safe site although thousands of people are on it. It's a shame that it only takes a few a*^holes to screw up a nice thing

Actually it was originally meant as a place for independent local musicians to promote themselves, offer samples of their music and advertise show dates. Those are tough things to do without the backing of a major label. I make electronic music and would like to delve into film scoring, so I'm on there. I could be more aggressive about finding independent film makers and making contacts, but I've been pretty lazy about it. Still, the possibilities are out there.

I have a personal page but never use it because I'm not narcissistic enough.

sure I even have and it quite is attending to be so stressful! It retains catching the corner of my eye and that i'm able to't help yet look haha I have been given as much as, "Whoa! you have earned 26 factors" now it quite is, "Whoa! you have earned 6 factors". ask your self what it is going to likely be next haha :D

For me it's just a really great way for me to keep up with my friends that i really don't get to see or talk to much otherwise. At first i thought it was pointless but after i got on and actually saw how many of my friends were on it actually became helpful

People use it for networking with friends, and some even use it to find dates by searching through the profiles of people in their area.
