Because a Rolls full of stuff is too heavy.

That is terrible.....how could anyone be so ignorant?.......Do you understand the word "homeless"?....they push shopping carts with stuff (which happens to be everything they own in the world) around with them because they have no other place to keep it......ie.....homeless. Why dont you go down to a shelter and volunteer some of your time, see just what its like to be homeless and only have some "garbage" to call your own. Looking for your next meal or trying to find a warm place to sleep for the night.
You really need someone to enlighten you. Come down off your pedestal and see what the real world is all about.

honestly, hobos run the excellent small companies in the city. you recognize the announcing "One guy's treasure is yet another guy's trash" or something like that. My homeless pal, Scaggs, sells the excellent dumpster pizza and apple cores around, and for an extremely inexpensive value. those adult males are like those adult males in chinatown, different than they have actually, call-sort products, while the persons in chinatown sell ripoff variations. My suggestion: next time your in the city, bypass the intense priced clothier shops and the lower priced rip off shops altogether, save at a hobo close to you!

One persons trash is another persons treasure. Don't be so selfless! You could be one of the, you know. Most people are only one or two paychecks away from cooking squirrel under a bridge. Be grateful that you aren't in that situation, and help them out when you can. At the very least you will build good karma.

Some of the garbage is actually recyclable materials worth nickels. Some of it is clothes that may look like garbage. Then again, remember the old addage: "One Man's Trash is another's Treasure."

It isn't garbage, they are pushing their belongings around with them. They don't have money for a car, so they use a shopping buggy. And they are homeless, so they don't have a home to put their things in like we do. Duh?! lol

A lot of times it is stuff to recycle.

Other times, it is all of their "things" like other clothes, or whatever they own. When you are homeless you can't leave your stuff sitting around because it will get thrown out or stolen, so you have to carry it with you. It looks like garbage because it is dirty or they have to use trash bags to carry it all.

That "garbage" is the only thing they have. It's what they use for clothing, shelter, food, etc. A shopping cart is the easiest place for them to store it.

Think of it this way, if you had no home, you'd probably need to drag your stuff around with you somehow.

I don't know about you, but were I to dump half the crap in my house into a shopping cart, people would probably regard it as junk.

they collect cans to sell them at recycling places, they also try and find food in them

its really sad because the cans are mostly from the beer that most people who are on the verge of being too poor to buy anything drink, vicious cycle really
