I often hear about the dangers of holding a cell phone to your head. Now with these new notebook pc's with multi-gigahertz system clocks I'm a little worried. I often like to browse, sitting down with my notbook on my lap or sometimes even on my stomach when I'm lying down. Should I be concerned about this radiation??

better safe than sorry.. maybe the limited radiation from one source isn't enough to do damage to you.. but when was the last time you got just one source of radiation in a day? between irradiated meat, cell phones, computers, TV, microwaves, radio waves, electromagnetic fields from power lines, solar radiation... we get a lot of radiation.. the body does a good job of repairing most of this.. but why give it more needlessly?

I'd be more concerned with the heat generated by the laptop than any RF energy from the laptop. To prevent interference with radio equipment they are well shielded against RF emissions.

Laptops can get hot enough to damage the skin. Put it on a table or a TV tray, not on your body.

There is no solid medical evidence that either your cell phone or your notebook computer causes bodily damage when used as designed.
