Well.. In the book "Twilight" and "New Moon" by Stephanie Meyer.They can. They even show up in pictures. and they can go outside in the day. (Only not in the sun.. thats why in my book they live in a rainy cloudy place)

Their good looks can put anyone into a trance and discombobulate the victim of their senses. Should a vampire have a reflection to look into, well, they'd be overly narcissistic, and never leave the mirror caught into their own trance of beauty.

Because the reflection (and shadow) is traditionally associated with the human soul. Even in Eastern mythology, ghosts do not normally cast shadows and have distorted reflections. I spose it links up with Zulu warriors refusing to have their photo taken...the importance of the image/effigy as somehow 'being' whatever it represents.

According to legend, vampires aren't people who drink blood. They're more like phantoms than anything else. Come to think of it, I doubt you'd ever even have the chance to capture them on film.
The whole mirror thing exists basically to give the vampire one more advantage when sneaking on its victims from behind. *l*

in movies, they have hairdressers that do their hair for them. then the laptop outcomes human beings take the actors photograph out of any mirror. the reason that they supposedlt can not see their mirrored photograph is by way of the fact they have not any soul. Mirrors are meant to replica someone's soul.
