I haven't seen the movie, but I've seen it live 3 times (once on Broadway in NY!!!).
Mimi has no money (dut to her heroin addiction) and couldn't pay her bills so the elec got shut off. Initially she asks Roger to light the candle so she'll have some light in her apartment, but then she realizes that she is attracted to him. When he's not looking she blows the candle out and then plays it off as if the wind or a draft blew it out. She's using a stalling technique to get more time with him and to get closer to him. "Light my candle" is then used in a less literal sense, as in "turn me on".
**Whoops! I initially said Mark instead of Roger. It's been a while since I've seen the show!

Well she walks in with a candle when they have no power, and she had no matches, so I think so was asking him to light her candle, but that's just a guess...

Mimi's power gets shut off so she knocks on Marks door to ask for a match for her candle. She is also strung out on heroin.

It has two different meanings.
One: Mimi's power gets shut off, and she is looking for a light.
Two: At the same time she is also looking for someone to share her high with her, since she has some smack.
Hopes this helps.

She's also trying to get it on with him and he's trying very hard to make her go back to her apartment.
