"In his own way." I love this sort of language. I did stand up comedy several years ago, and I wrote a joke about Germans who defended the Nazis and Hitler. The joke went something like this: "Take over the world...? It seemed like a good idea at the time... on paper." He imagines he is religious perhaps, but so did the inquisitors of the fifteenth century; so did those that burned Joan of Arc; so did Yassir Arafat; so did the Right to Lifer who shot a doctor in Florida in the 1990s. History may call him "religious", but there is no doubt that history will call him a dastard and a liar.

Well, he is not doing it for the money, so I guess he thinks he has the moral high ground on the issue.

He is certainly trying to "help" in eradicating "America" from the world

Help? Yes. Trying to help himself and Al Qaida to get blown off earth.

I don't know who or what he is trying to help. Everyone has their own opinions and reasons for doing things. He probably does, too, but I don't know much about him at all.

If by "help" , you mean "aid in establishing a Muslim Caliphate (state)" then you are correct - albeit in a twisted way
