Sanctions? An offensive attack? It seems like the N. Korean government has no qualms about selling nuclear weapon technology to other countries as well. What can we do?

There's only one thing we in the US can do: encourage China to pull as much of the plug on N. Korea as possible. If China does that, N. Korea is as good as gone.

China doesn't want to do that because they're afraid of a flood of NK refugees streaming in (maybe they should build a fence? ha ha) if NK collapses. There are probably ways to mitigate that particular problem, but as we're seeing in Iraq, getting rid of a government is far easier than replacing it AND rebuilding enough of the infrastructure to keep people from starving and freezing to death.

There are no military options. The only sanctions that will work are those that China administers and then only if they are harsh enough (and I mean, harsh: let's face it, the NK government has proven it doesn't care that its citizens don't eat).

Of course, the real problem with NK having a bomb is that they're likely to sell it for cold hard cash to some terrorist nut jobs. If we can prevent that from happening, NK can have all the nukes they want. They can't do much with them if they're trapped in their "hermit kingdom."

Well, the newspaper this morning reads that North Korea has been condemned.

In 1971, my junior high school was condemned. In 1975, it was demolished. Any questions?

Sanctions is the ONLY option now. Even with that lies a problem. The regime colapses and then what? 1,000,000 hungry militants he calls an army are gonna jock for power, until someone has thier hands on the nuke tech.

I say sanction them, and when they are at thier weakest point, we strike with precission. Either that or topple the govt from within. if it werent for CHINA we could have done this by now. BOYCOTT CHINESE GOODS AND IMPORTS!

Try some bad music (take your pick) and blast it all over the country to drive the leader out of his current state of mind.

If the UN votes for trade sanctions, many of the things that NK needs will no longer be available. They are not self sufficient.

We can leave this to the United Nations....that's what they're there for.

The USA is not in charge of the world....although a lot of us seem to think so.
