I was charged with a felony 5 (4) years ago. My ex-husband's friend reported to the Welfare department that my ex-husband was living with me. He was living in Florida and his friend and him had a disagreement. And took it out on me and my son. I was charged with theft by deception. I was on community control until my restitution was paid, which wasn't until March of 2006. I was so excited because I wanted to finish nursing, and go back to work at the nursing home. But now I would have to be re-certifiied. I have checked online for my criminal record and it does not show up. I was wondering if I went back to the nursing home if I would pass the fingerprints, until this is exponged I can not finish nursing or work in a nursing home. I was told it takes 3 years after I have been released from community control and paid restitution that then I could apply to have my record exponged. I would like some info on this. There are people out there just getting out of prison going to school.

Never...so never deny it on an application as it is grounds for dismissal. Own it and call it a youthful stupid act that it was.

I thnk it may in basic terms be exponged if he replaced into later chanced on harmless. he's likewise in basic terms basically now 7 years from having "served his debt to society". he will have the skill to get his balloting rights back quicker or later, i'm uncertain he will ever have the skill to get rid of a violent crime like armed theft from his checklist until eventually he replaced right into a minor on the time. each and every physique is held responsible for violent crimes and those regarding handguns lots longer than different crimes. because his crime replaced into no longer emotional, he could theoretically %. up a gun any day of the week and rob somebody back so a techniques as society is worried. as long as he chooses to no longer do this, employers will ultimately place much less emphasis on that area of his historic previous. he's 7 years interior the sparkling of it - yet while he did it as an person, he crossed a line that society is extremely reluctant to forgive. there is no longer thank you to show that one does not repeat an act, as quickly as you have finished the act as an person.

That depends upon the state. Some states provide for expungement of a felony, typically 10 or more years after the completion of any sentence and parole or probation. Other states NEVER expunge a felony.

At any rate, you're going to need to consult with an attorney. He or she can advise you of your local laws on the subject, and start the ball rolling when (and if) you're eligible.
