My Mom says it is better to let the wound heal naturally and eat lots of pineapple because it has certain properties to heal quickly.

If you use a bandaid use it to prevent infection but remember to let the wound heal naturally, it needs air.

It really depends. It's good to let wounds get air so the skin can breathe, but it's also good to keep the wound covered to prevent bacteria from getting into the wound and cause an infection. In MY opinion, I think the best thing to do is apply an antibiotic and breathable guaze over the wound.
Some people don't realize this, but if the wound already has bacteria in it, and you cover it with a bandaid, sometimes you make the wound worse, because these things called "anerobic bacteria" can still live in environments with no oxygen, i.e. bandaid covered wounds.
It's kinda like when a baby gets a diaper rash, one of the best thigns to do (besides a skin barrier ointment) is to expose the rash to air to help dry it out. A LOT of bacteria crave moist environments, and also fungi like moist environments too, so not only do you get bacteria, but you can also get a growth of fungi, which is no fun.
So...like I said, first wash the area with an antibacterial soap and water (don't apply peroxide, it does NOTHING to get rid of bacteria, it actually can damage body tissue) then apply an antibiotic ointment (as a barrier) then apply a breathable dressing. Change the dressing often and allow the wound to be exposed to air occasionally as well.

Bandaids hinder healing for me because I am allergic to the stuff that makes them stick and it causes me to have more wounds to heal other than the first one. And, I'm pretty sure your mom is right about the pineapple.

If you're bleeding, bandaids help, no?

After it's finished bleeding I might still wear a bandaid if there's a flap of skin that can get snagged.

"Just put Windex on it." Actually, I think they can be of assistance. Especially when you have a cut on your racket hand, and you need to play tennis that night.
