the National Socialists of the early 1930s Germany - scaring people into supporting them, eroding away at democracy, demonizing political opponents, consolidating power in solely thier own hands, putting all the blame on ethnic groups and leftists, an intracate and devious progaganda machine, finding excuses to invade other countries, while proclaiming "master" status over the globe.

More and more like Democrats of 10-20 years ago - excessive spending, porous borders, lack of moral turpitude...
Unfortunately, they are still our best options as the Democrats have swung so wildly to the left that they are practically unelectable (God willing).
