The Copenhagen Interpertation as stated by Neils Bohr is still what most valid way at looking at quantum mechanics. Any book or article about neils Bohr or his student Werner Heisenberg will give you details anbout this interpertation. It basically says that matter and energy can be a wave or a particle at the same time and until we measure it or look at it, it maintains this "duality". It is real heavy stuff.
