I have a 1991 Toyota Camry DX. I just started a job in pizza delivery yesterday and before starting the job, I put 4.672 gallons ($10) of gas in it. This made the meter go to half tank of gas from empty. The car had 203200 miles on it as I left the gas station yesterday.

Today I was driving back from school, the car is running on empty. With 203270 miles on it.

I can't understand it. 70 miles in half a tank...this all translates to 15 mpg.

I usually go through half a tank in about 200 miles. What could be the cause? Help will be appreciated :)

I also have a 2001 and a 2004 Prius. the two have been great automobiles. low-priced to run and look after, exciting to rigidity. they are 2 of the excellent 3 automobiles i've got had. The 2001 is somewhat short on shipment room, however the 2004 has plenty. In the two you could mushy seat 4 finished-length human beings. i understand no longer something correct to the Ford different than it rather is a Ford and the only's i've got had in the previous have been lacking in high quality (even after the "qualtity" advertising that indicated they fixed their high quality issues). i've got sat in the Camry and it regarded somewhat small whilst in comparison with the Prius. Legroom in the rear became lacking whilst in comparison with the Prius. on the different hand the driving force's seat became extra adjustable. verify out the Yahoo Prius communities for some extra distinctive suggestion and proprietor's evaluations and consistent with probability some off-record communicate. i does no longer hesitate to get a 2010 Prius, yet those I even have look to be sturdy for many extra years.

There are a lot of factors that contribute to fuel consumption. Are you driving erratically? Being rough on the gas pedal, braking and speeding up frequently burn a lot of gas. Check the pressure in your tires, make sure they are at the appropriate level, and equal. Other factors are sitting in traffic, running the air conditioning, and, although unlikely, have you checked to make sure you don't have a leak?

Delivering pizza is a lot different from cruising down the interstate, where the mpg is best. I would say 15mpg is about as good as it gets with a car with over 200,000 miles.

Fuel gauges are NOTORIOUSLY inaccurate, particularly the last half of the tank.
I know funds may be tight, but the only way you can check the fuel mileage with ANY accuracy it to fill it up. Note the mileage, and the next time you add fuel, fill it up (you don't have to drive ALL of the fuel out) again. If it takes only 3.61 gal to fill up, you have accurate data to analyze.

Good Luck
