=I went to a Catholic school and we prayed so much it turned me off to Catholics but not to prayer. I pray my own way now and it works. The Pledge of Allegiance is gone now as well. Morals and society seems to be declining as a result. I think there are too many "latch key kids" due to parent(s) long work hours. I cannot believe the terrible language on TV. I used to let my kids watch the Bundy's and it got too out of hand as well as the Simpson's. My kids used to tell me that they know it is just TV and they wouldn't do or say that to one another, but I had to be the parent and teach respect to my kids. When a parent is embarrassed to watch local TV with their children, things are pretty sad. My 4 kids now thank me for being a responsible and caring mom. In my opinion it is lack of respect that is partially responsible for any act of violence.

I don't think it has anything to do with the removal of prayer from the schools. I think it has to do with lack of parental support, communication and involvement in their kids' lives.
Parents get so busy with the rest of their life that sometimes the kids go unchecked and horrible things happen. I'm not saying busy parents are bad parents though. Sometimes they're busy doing things they have to do, like working 2 or 3 jobs just to support the family. Unfortunately, that's the way it is nowadays.

I highly doubt it. Violence has been going on for a long time (Check out Rome, the Crusades, etc.) I don't think this is a phenomenon related to the removal of religion or the introduction of video games.

To a degree yes I do. However I believe that it has more to do with this country's turning their back on The LORD and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. While prayer is immensely important, the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. If men no longer fear Him then what can we really expect. Political correctness and tolerance; the ideology of not offending anybody is destroying our sense of morals and definite right and wrongs. Kids used to be taught about The Lord who never changes, now they are stuffed with science which changes everyday.

Personally I think that because they removed the Pledge of Allegiance from pubic schools. The Pledge of Allegiance let each kid know [in front of other kids] that they have rights and that there is a Justice system and that all are equal and that they belong to something bigger than they are and that they are a part of it. I could go on more but this is the basic Thought. Just take a look at the Pledge of Allegiance and read it, expand your personal thought on it. Maybe you can add more understanding of belonging to something greater than yourself. Just a Thought...
Read history and Pledge at provided link.

erm, yes and no.
no - I don't think it's directly related to the prayer and schools being "christian"
yes - I do think that schools (and society at large) have lost an element of bringing up kids to be "good people" and to respect the difference between "good and bad" and how their actions influence other people's lives. The teching of a materialistic society where "I do what makes me feel better, regardless fo how it makes you feel" is truly to blame. Although I'm not for having a religious schooling, it does at least teach compassion towards your fellows.

No.. It is because people don't store their guns properly, leaving access to emotionally charged kids who don't understand the devastation that their actions bring upon others. Parents of kids you do this kind of violence should be charged with murder!

no- one thing has nothing to do with the other.
We never prayed in school and didn't encounter the type of violence that there is now.

i wouldn't doubt it. I'm sure it's contributing to the violence someway somehow. Removing it was the stupidest thing ever.
