The Puritans, followers of John Calvin, were intolerant of other faiths. When Anne Hutchinson tried to hold religious meetings in her home, the ministers had a fit and she was driven out of the colony where she was eventually killed by the Indians. The Puritans felt that the fact she was killed by the Indians proved she was NOT one of the elect and was damned.

They considered other faiths or belief systems to be un-godly i.e. heathen...zero tolerance for different faiths...

I believe they felt all other faiths were vile
