Am I supposed to have HORRIFYING cramps and HEAVY bleeding. Before I got pregnant, my periods were moderate as bleeding was concerned and I only cramped the first and last day but now I been cramping since Saturday night. Is this normal?

Your first period after not having one for nine months + is usually awful! Mine always were, but they slowly went back to normal. If you're really concerned ask your gyno, otherwise, lots of Tylenol and moderate exercise and warm baths. Good luck!

It's normal, pregnancy wreaks havoc on your body so the change in intensity is to be expected. The killer cramps and heavy bleeding is probably due to a clot. Your next one should be more tolerable. If you are worried though, there is never any harm in calling your OBGYN!
Sorry you're in pain by the way! Lay down and drink some tea!

Did you have a post-birth ultrasound to ensure nothing was retained following the birth at your six-week check up? If not, it sounds like you may have had another injury.

Post-birth bleeding can last six weeks after delivery and if you are breastfeeding, you shouldn't be having periods so soon after delivery.

If you soak more than two pads in four hours, go to the emergency room.

It is normal to not have a period till now and your body is still adjusting and moving back into place after the birth of your child.

It normal...as long as you don't have a fever and don't lose too much blood, if you are worry call the GYN...too much bleeding is no joke...my mother waited and she almost bleed to death.
