Breastfeeding is best, but if you cannot do it formula is the only other way to go.

Breastfeeding, but not because of the "breast-fed babies are superhuman" mis-information that gets spread around here. My daughter was bottle fed. She had no problems and is at the top of her class in reading, math, spelling, athletics, you name it. When my wife had our son, we went with the bottle again. The only problem was that he had an unknown allergy to nuts and, believe it or not, some formulas have traces of nuts.

He couldn't keep the formula down. He projectile vomited. The pediatrician didn't know what to do. We switch formulas and the same thing happened. He is okay, but he was not a happy baby. When he was old enough we had him tested and found the allergy. The pediatrician explained everything and said he wouldn't suggest bottle feeding to any patient again.

Go with breast feeding just to be on the safe side.

What is better is what the mother and baby are comfortable with. If it makes you feel uncomfortable breastfeeding your baby will feel uncomfortable. If you are more comfortable formula/bottle feeding then do so. There is no more "bonding" that goes on between breastfed children and their mothers than bottle fed children and their mothers. Proof of that fact? My sister's own two breast fed daughters. Neither has ever been very close to their mother, they are closer to their father (and he didn't breastfeed either one of them). I bottle/formula fed my daughter and if we were any closer she'd be attached to my hip. It's not the boob that matters in bonding it's HOW one bonds with their child. If you want to formula feed go for it YOU are your child's mother not your friend...

Breastfeeding is by far superior to formula. However, if your son is 2 months already you may not be ablet to get your milk production up enough to breastfeed.

It depends on what you are trying to accomplish.

It is most likely too late to breastfeed, as you are two months after the baby. You can look up your local chapter of www.lalecheleague.com They are a great resource regarding breastfeeding.

As others have said, breastfeeding is best for baby. It's also best for momma!

**it burns calories to breastfeed so often breastfed women loose weight faster

**less time and money spent dealing with a sick baby
**no money spent of formula
**diapers smell better, spit up doesn't stain or smell as bad and most breastfed babies spit up much less
**lower chance of ovarian, uterine, or breast cancer for mom
**lower chance of osteoporosis and rheumatoid arthritis
**improved blood sugar control and good cholesterol numbers lowering chance of heart disease
**no bottles or nipples to buy and wash
**incredible sense of accomplishment and self esteem

Breastfeeding is better, but if you haven't breastfed before now, then your milk supply probably isn't there. If you are doing both then you will probably have to keep it that way, double check with your son's pediatrician or a lactation consultant.

breastfeeding is better. I have a 2 month old preemie and she actually gets both (only because she is a preemie)

If you cant handle the feeding of the baby, you can always pump and bottle feed the breast milk to the baby.

Breastfeeding will pass on important anti bodies to your son that he will need to help him grow

Breast feeding is the natural way to feed your baby. If you can, I recommend it. If you don't have time, you can always pump and freeze the milk for later use!

Breast feeding.
No danger of milk going off, being too hot/ too cold etc, and there are more health benefits to you and your baby.
An internet search will give you all the facts you need, as will a chat with your health visitor/ doctor.
