your father had to be a mason for you to become a mason. Go to your local masonic temple and ask around. They might have a different way for you to get in. Noone is going to fill you in on the masons on here. It's a hush hush society.

Do you know any Masons? If so, start by talking with them. If not, I just did a quick web-search, and here is their web page. I'm sure they have some good info there.
