In some cases yes. But liars generally lie for 1 of 2 reasons.
1. Cowardice - they fear rejection or boat-rocking. They are generally harmless wimps.
2. Manipulation - they want $, sex, things, power, election, etc. They are malacious.

Again, deceptively simple question. For some, I imagine so. A child may learn to lie to avoid severe beatings. A man may learn to lie to avoid humiliation. A woman may lie to avoid rape and murder. etc.

Clearly. Think of when you were a kid and a parent asked if you took the cake, or if you broke the window. It's so simple to just say "No" and if they can't confirm it, you are home free. You were standing there sweating it out, dreading the coming smack or yell or whatever. And after that successful lie, aaahhh... sweet sweet nectar.

for some people it is, they go through life lying, stealing and cheating. that is the only way they know how to make it.
