You were probably looking for the first regularly scheduled cartoon shown when tv broadcasting was introduced to the public. That, I'm not sure about. But Felix WAS the very first cartoon character to be on tv.

all i know is that the creaters of mickey mouse made the first cartoon on television.....
But Benjamin Francklin actually created cartoons...but back then when benjamin franklin and the signers of the constitution were still alive there were no televisions.....
so i'll say creaters if disney...

I know Clutch Cargo was the first one MADE for television.

In the early days of tv, any movie property be it toon or actor, who went to TV was BLACKLISTED from the movies. Most likely the very first toons on TV were either commercial animations, tv title animations, or silent movie era toons like Coco the Clown. My brother remembers seeing Coco toons in the mid 1950s.

It was indeed felix the cat, but as a test when they were stil developing the medium. Before it was available to the general public.

I don´t remember the name but it was a female dinosaur just moving around and smiling and nodding, it was in black and white and it lasted a minute or so, it was before Felix the cat
