Heard that it is an untruth to not hurt someone's feelings. To me a lie is a lie. I try to find some way else to not hurt their feelings.

A white lie is a lie that not only doesn't hurt anyone, it is beneficial to the other person.
Example: My sister buys a dress that she loves for a special occasion. She tries it on for me. She looks so pleased. She asks me, "does it make me look heavier?" My white lie would be that it looks great on her. She has already made up her mind on the dress, she is pleased with it and likes the way it makes her look. Why ruin things for her because I don't like it?

A white lie is still a lie, but it is one that saves the feelings of another on occasion. Not truly meant to deceive, but to smooth out a rough spot.

A white lie is what you tell when you are trying not to offend someone. The wife asks, "Do I look fat in this dress?" You say no because you don't want to get in trouble or you don't want to shatter her illusions.... or maybe delusions. LOL

and white lie is that truth which is telling in the rap of lie.The one who is listening,knows well about the truth but does not want to realise.
