What I meant by that is, say for instance, if a female is mean during her pregnancy, will the baby be mean, if she is happy most of the time, will the baby have a happy personality?

Many traits are passed on due to genetics of the parents, but personality is not one of them. As others have noted, personality is mostly acquired though experiences and motivation. Some do believe however, that a child's POTENTIAL may be linked to genetics such as I.Q. and talents. It seems these passed on traits are almost exclusively in some creative aspect. But personality is malleable up to a certain age, ( some say around the age of 10 or so. then it is pretty much locked in.

The baby will grow to have its own personality.

However, I do remember reading an article somewhere that stated that mothers who are nervous and irritable all the time during their pregnancies have an overabundance of those hormones flowing through their blood. This can, in turn, affect how the baby feels, and may influence how fussy/irritable they are once they are born. It seems that pre-natal stress may have some indicators for adolescence and adulthood. That being said, it hasn't been completely proven in humans yet, but it seems to exist in animals - so I can't see why it wouldn't also apply to humans.

I doubt it...it's not like your brains are connected. Although, seeing babies and their parents, the baby almost always has traits from one or both of its parents. But those make up the baby before it becomes an actual baby and after it is born by seeing its parents in action. I think the pregnancy thing is a myth though.
I hope you understood what I wrote, It is easier to explain it face to face rather than over the net. lol....

No, it wont affect the babys personality. However, the baby can sense when their mommas upset, but thier personality doesnt isnt affected by it. I believe that it forms by seeing how others act, and most of thier personality will come from thier primary caregiver. I take care of my son most of the time, and he acts just like me!!!!

Not true. I grew up with 3 older brothers and we are all completely different. I mean, we has some similarities, but personality-wise, we are different. I don't think my parents had all those different personalities. That would be CRAZY! LOL

ya and if you are bit by a dog, the baby will be a werewolf!!! OLD WIVES TALES!!!
ALthough if you expierence an EXCESSIVE amount of stress (outside of normal/daily living stressors) there are studies that say the baby may be more inclined to have ADD or ADHD?

I logically wouldn't think so. But the more I thought about it, the more my kids actually did take on the personality I had. I am sure that it is probably coincidental and related to their ages...but still...interesting

I don't think it's true. I think the baby is more likely to have your personality, but they also have their own.

NO, who told you that... The baby develops its own personality as it grows.

absolutely not, the baby will have their own personality, now as the child grows, he/she will learn by their parents and can pick up some bad habits by seeing how their parents act
