Have you accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior? If you have not, why is that? Has it anything to do with your sexual orientation? Is it because you simply do not believe or does it have to do with the way you have been treated by the majority of Christians? Please be honest and know that I am not here to offend anyone. If anyone would like to talk with me one on one please fill free to send me a message. I will not judge anyone. :)

Princess, my intentions are not to get into a hate- filled debate. I do not want to judge. I know that some will misunderstand why I asked this question, but I am glad that at least one person understood where I was coming from. Thank you.

When I was nine years old I walked down the isle in my very Southern Baptist church and openly accepted Jesus into my life. I still believe in Christ. However, I found my soul mate in a person that happens to be of the same gender as me. I have no regrets and I know in my heart I am not going to rot and go to hell. If loving her is a sin then I will face God when it is my time and accept His judgement accordingly. I am not offended by your questions here but many will be. You should look in the archived questions here and see the hate and animosity that is poured out upon the people here. And then Christians come here and expect those that have been bashed to just drop it all and turn to the Christian faith?!?!?! The hate and animosity projected by "Christians" is unbelieveable! And it's done "in the name of God"?!?! That is astounding. Truely astounding. I would happily talk with you about this but I refuse to get into a hate filled debate over it. I won't do it. I know what I believe and I know where I come from.

I am a Jewish Lesbian. I was born Jewish and I believe born Lesbian, with a clear genetic predisposition as science has come to believe.
That said, nothing could ever make me think that Jesus was anything but another human being. My religion, and I am religious, has taught me through Torah that there is only one G-d and that is what I will continue to believe, no matter who on earth tries to preach discrimination in heaven. If you believe that unless we accept Jesus as my savior, I will not go to heaven, then you are discriminating against me. Because my G-d informs me that I am going to heaven. You see my G-d is kind and gentle and loves me unconditionally. I am a good person, I do mitzvoth, I am a mother of two adorable little girls, I am successful, I pay my taxes, I pray. My G-d does not care that I am a lesbian. If G-d was concerned about my sexuality HE would not have made me in his image; to do good and serve with kindness to my fellow persons on earth,. Regardless of race, religion, sexual orientation. I also don’t think G-d would have liked me to do G-d’s job of Judging. To Judge others, you are playing G-D and that is absolute “Chutzpah!” I am no different from the person who wrote this question, we are all the same, no matter what we believe or whom we love. What makes us the same is the G-D of the “OLD TESTAMENT” (As Christians call it.)
So yes you question is offensive to me, because it assumes you and I are different and that I have to account to you for your perception that we are different. Yet, I believe your intentions are honorable and to that end, all is forgiven and I MUST thank you for the opportunity to respond. Baruch Hashem

I think that is a fair question. The answer to your question is yes christians "for the most part" want to pick and choose what applies. For us it is the whole sin of being gay and nothing we do will save us unless we repent and quite being homosexual. It is old, it isn't a solution, and no one has any authority to say who is and who isn't going to hell. Government also should have no say in what we can and can't do on a couple level either. Any way the whole idea of organized religion dictates that christians are going to hell if your not jewish. or muslim or hindue. Its just plane crazy. I believe in a higher power and I don't have to convince anyone.

i don't take offence to your question, because i know where you are coming from. I too was raised a fundamentalists baptist..i went to chur 3x a week...i went to every summer camp, revival camp...i got "saved" when i was 8 and baptised afterwards. i also attened a strict christian school where i attended chapels and bible class...you name it, i did it....but i've just recently accepted the fact that i'm bisexual...i've always been in striaght relationships and am in one now...i've never acted yet...but i dream about being with a women...it's a fantasy...christians say it's a choice...it's not..i didn't choose this..this confustion...i can't stop my body from getting aroused when i see a naked chic...and like someone else said...comes down to wanting to be accepted or just wanting to be happy..with who you..my parents would freak if they new this..as is i'm going to hell for having pre-marital sex....my whole view on chrisitanity has changed since high school...i'm agaist organized religion now...they only want your money and to follow their rules...most churches have wondered so far from the Bible..they don't know which way is up anymore. i have faith...and feel i am spiritual...and have a great life...i'm happy...feel less confused since i've jumped on this site and talked with a few other bisexual/ lesbian people...make me feel like i am normal..which i know i am...but christians like to point out that i'm not normal according to them. way i see it is...if there is a God...it's between he and i and like princess said...i'll be judged for it if it's really an abomination. I'm looking for a soul mate...and that person could be either sex....anyway- good luck to you as well.

Mykids, I would guess that most of the people who frequent this forum are probably from North America or Western Europe and most were raised in one of the Christian churches.
Sexual orientation has nothing to do with your religious beliefs. I would say many gay, lesbian, or bisexual people have been driven out of the church though by married church members -- as adults. The church may be a place of fellowship but it is also a social club set up for married couples and their kids; all others
(gay people, single people, widowed people, etc.) have a secondary status or non-status. Married people use their marital status to control who is allowed in the church and who should be allowed to do certain tasks in the church.
Most non-straight people are not driven out of the church by priests or ministers; they are driven out by the gossiping of the married church members.
You would be surprised at how many people who do still attend church, including married people and clergy, are themselves not straight.

No, simply because I have seen that path, long before I even knew anything about my sexual orientaton. I have no use for your religion, your God, or your Jesus. I was born just fine the first time, I am not lost and do not need to be saved.
Christianity itself not only holds absolutely nothing for me and by the actions of those who turn to talk to "us" instead of going after your bretheren who do treat us badly, if I were to concider changing my personal religious beliefs, it would not be to any form, manner, or shape of any of the Judeo Christian religions. You've already "proven" your point, now move on.

I understand where you are coming from. Like the red head, I also came from the fundamentalist persuasion.
Yes! It is because of the way the Christians treat us. It's like we have the plague or something. But we are noraml people too! Those gays that are Christians (and there are quite a few) just dont go to church or stay in the closet.
Because I knew that the church didn't want me because I was bi, I started to evaluate what that religion meant to me. And I found loads of flaws in it. If I was accepted for who I was, I might have kept going to the church I was raised in.
So there ya go. Like I always say, it ain't easy being gay. Sometimes you have to choose between being accepted or being yourself. It's a sad state of affairs, one that I'm sure Jesus would not like one bit.

I have accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior but I can understand why you are asking because most Christians truly do offend. I am bisexual and g0y. I firmly believe that God made us this way as a test to Christians and so far Christians are failing God. They are too filled with hatred for homosexuals to ever accept them. When you say hate the sin but love the sinner you are judging us. You already see us as sinners which we are the same as you are a sinner. You are not willing to accept us and love us as we are you are only able to accept us as you want us to be.
Judge not lest ye be judged. I am not judging you as harsh or false I am just pointing out what most Christians do and if you do not do that then I apologize to you for insinuating that.
Good day sister.

There are many gays and lesbians and others who accept Jesus as their savior, the difference with them from you is that they see the Bible and many of its strictures as flawed writings by men. Knowing and accepting Jesus in no way negates someones gayness nor do people such as myself believe we are anything other than what we believe we should be. I believe I was created this way by my God and I also believe Christ loves me just as I am. My belief is just that, mine, just as your belief is yours. We simply see and interpret Biblical scripture differently. No one on this planet can claim to know for sure what Gods true intent is or was, it is in fact a leap of faith. Mine is no more or less than yours, just different. If I am condemned by others who claim to speak in Christs' name, I would wonder how much they really know Him to do that.
Also, your question was written with respect, so I offer my answer in kind.

I dont think u are being offensive in the slightest. U have posed your question in a respectful manner and i can respect u in return. And allow me to apologize for the rudeness of the ignorant responders who have nothing else better to do than to harass. Anyway, in response to your question, i have accedpted Jesus Christ as my PERSONAL savior many many years ago. I am more comfortable now in my relationship with christ than i was when i was striving to be straight (sumthing that i definitely was NOT) I was confused, angry & hurt back then. And when i became comfortable with myself and who I am, my relationship with Christ grew stronger and I am a better person for it.
